The Vice President, Capital Cost Management owns Switch’s capital cost discipline across the project lifecycle. You will establish how project costs are estimated, controlled, forecasted, and benchmarked so leaders have one complete and credible view of what each project will ultimately cost. You will own the approved cost baseline and consolidated estimate at completion while governing changes, contingency, actuals, and commitments. You will work closely with Finance and Construction while leading internal cost teams and external cost-management partners.
Establish and maintain estimating standards for capital projects, including consistent methods, assumptions, cost structures, and reporting.

Consolidate project estimates, commitments, actuals, forecasts, changes, and contingency into a complete estimate at completion.
Set standards for contingency management and provide clear visibility into contingency use, remaining exposure, and project risk.
Reconcile cost forecasts against actuals and commitments, identify material variances, and ensure issues are resolved or reflected in the forecast.
Build and maintain cost benchmarks from completed projects to improve future estimates and capital planning.
Provide Finance with credible project cost forecasts and supporting analysis for underwriting, capital allocation, and investment decisions.

Present project and portfolio cost positions, risks, changes, and forecast movements to executive leadership with the detail needed to make capital decisions.
You make sound cost decisions using complete, current information and clearly explain the assumptions behind them.
You communicate complex project cost information directly and make material risks, changes, and decisions easy to understand.
You establish clear standards and follow them consistently across projects while addressing exceptions when they arise.
You work effectively across Finance, Construction, and other teams while maintaining clear ownership and accountability.
You identify cost issues early, bring practical solutions, and follow through until they are resolved.
You hold internal teams and external partners to consistent standards for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
12+ years of relevant construction cost, estimating, quantity surveying, commercial management, or project controls experience, including significant leadership experience.
Experience leading capital cost management from preconstruction estimating through post-award cost control and project completion.

Experience leading internal teams and managing external cost-management or commercial consultants.
Experience supporting executive capital decisions and communicating project cost information effectively with Finance leaders.
