As Maintenance Documentation Manager within Reliability Engineering, you will provide strategic oversight of maintenance documentation governance across mission-critical data center infrastructure. This role exists to ensure all maintenance-related documentation is accurate, standardized, controlled, and audit-ready. You will establish documentation frameworks that protect uptime, support regulatory compliance, and reduce operational risk across all Switch campuses.
You will partner closely with Reliability Engineering, Facilities Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, and service partners to ensure maintenance procedures align with asset strategy, OEM requirements, and safety standards.
Own enterprise-wide governance for maintenance documentation across critical systems.
Develop and enforce standards for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance documentation.
Establish lifecycle management processes for SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and technical procedures.
Oversee version control, approval workflows, and change management for maintenance documentation.
Ensure documentation complies with Switch Maintenance Policies and applicable OSHA, NFPA, and regulatory standards.
Drive audit readiness by maintaining accurate and accessible documentation for inspections and compliance reviews.
Ensure CMMS data integrity and standardized recordkeeping across campuses.
Partner with Facilities and Reliability teams to align documentation with asset strategies and risk mitigation practices.
Support root cause analysis and reliability initiatives with accurate historical maintenance records.
Identify opportunities to streamline documentation processes and improve traceability.
Serve as the subject matter expert for maintenance documentation governance.
You establish clear standards and enforce consistency.
You protect compliance without slowing operations.
You maintain strong attention to detail in high-volume documentation environments.
You communicate effectively across engineering, operations, and compliance teams.
You anticipate documentation gaps before they create risk.
You operate with integrity and a strong commitment to safety.
Required:
7+ years of experience in maintenance documentation management, technical writing, compliance governance, or reliability-focused facilities environments.
Experience managing documentation governance frameworks in regulated or mission-critical environments.
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, generator, and critical infrastructure systems.
Proficiency with CMMS platforms, document management systems, and version control tools.
Experience supporting audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, Technical Writing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
Experience in mission-critical data center environments.
Familiarity with reliability engineering principles and maintenance strategies.
Experience implementing enterprise-wide documentation standards.
