The Role: Strategic Sourcing Manager – OFCI Equipment

As the Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager for OFCI Equipment, you will set sourcing strategy for critical data center equipment categories. You are accountable for cost, contract structure, supplier performance, and risk management across active construction programs. This role ensures equipment is available on time, within budget, and aligned to Switch design standards. Your decisions directly impact capital efficiency, schedule certainty, and long-term supplier relationships.

What You’ll Do

• Own category strategy for OFCI equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and modular systems.

• Build multi-year sourcing plans aligned to construction forecasts and capital plans.

• Lead competitive sourcing events and negotiate complex commercial agreements.

• Establish pricing structures, contract terms, and service level expectations.

• Develop should-cost models and drive measurable cost improvement initiatives.

• Identify supply risks such as capacity constraints, long lead times, and obsolescence, and implement mitigation plans.

• Partner with Design, Construction, Operations, and Supply Chain to align specifications and delivery schedules.

• Lead supplier performance reviews and corrective action planning.

• Support capital budget planning and value engineering efforts.

• Ensure sourcing practices comply with company policy and legal standards.

• Provide clear reporting on cost, risk exposure, and supplier performance to senior leadership.

What You’ll Bring

Required

• 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.

• Experience leading complex sourcing initiatives with measurable cost and performance results.

• Experience sourcing mechanical, electrical, or modular equipment in construction, manufacturing, or data center environments.

• Demonstrated success negotiating high-value, multi-year supplier agreements.

• Experience building category strategies tied to capital projects or infrastructure programs.

• Strong financial and analytical skills, including cost modeling and contract evaluation.

Preferred

• Experience with OFCI procurement models in data center or mission-critical construction.

• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement analytics tools.

• Experience working in fast-paced, multi-site construction environments.
