The Role: Information Security Analyst I

The Information Security Analyst I supports the day-to-day protection of Switch systems and data. This role focuses on monitoring, investigation support, and foundational security operations under the guidance of more senior analysts. You will follow established processes, learn Switch security standards, and help identify and respond to security risks. This role is well suited for someone early in their security career who wants hands-on experience in a production environment.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM, EDR, and related tools

• Review and triage suspicious activity and escalate issues using documented procedures

• Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, validation, and remediation tracking

• Maintain and update security documentation, including procedures and standards

• Participate in access reviews and user account audits

• Assist with security awareness efforts, including phishing simulations and training support

• Support compliance and risk assessment activities under direction from senior team members

• Communicates clearly and directly, both in writing and verbally

• Operates responsibly in a mission-critical environment

• Works well with teammates and supports shared goals

What You’ll Bring

• Foundational understanding of information security principles such as least privilege and defense in depth

• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, or macOS operating systems

• Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls

• Exposure to security tools such as SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, or endpoint protection tools

• Internship, academic, or hands-on experience in IT, cybersecurity, or systems administration

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience

• Entry-level security certifications or active progress toward one are a plus
