General Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of this position is to serve as a key resource to the Reno Warehouse Supervisor as well as the Inventory Control Manager and Logistics Warehouse Manager in Las Vegas. As well as assisting all other teams in Reno. You will be asked to perform tasks associated with stocking, storing, transacting, counting and delivering of parts and materials needed for the daily operation of Switch.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The main responsibility of this role is to assist the Warehouse Supervisor with the following tasks below:
- Maintain the accuracy of inventory balances, and the reconciling of inventory inaccuracies
- Lead the cycle count process by preparing the daily count sheets, performing counts, and analyzing variances
- Maintain all Items entered into JDEs System, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Attend meetings as necessary to support the job responsibilities
- Contributes to team atmosphere by assisting employees, both internal to the department and external, to ensure that tasks and activities being conducted meet Switch objectives
- Physically pick, and deliver all requests for items, both inventory and non-inventory
- Label, package, identify and count items as necessary
- Complete, organize and file all necessary documentation
- Work with Procurement as necessary to resolve issues of incomplete or inconsistent shipments
- Process returned equipment from customers and Internal Departments
- Ensure that Warehouse area is neat, clean and organized at all times
- Process other material requests as required
- Take care of the recyclables for the company, including cans, plastic, copper, scrap metal, crates and the cardboard for the warehouse
Other Duties:
- Performs other assignments (or duties) as required.
- Creating and maintaining work orders & Purchasing Reqs. Including but not limited to issuing parts, processing returns and closing work orders
- Stocking received inventory
- Assisting in warehouse construction (Moving and installing fencing, warehouse racks)
- Assist with modifying process’s for efficiency
- Unloading and loading of shipments arriving and departing warehouse
- Assist vendors and other personnel with inventory searches
- Pick up and drop off of items at local vendors
- Prepare items for shipping via FedEx, UPS, and other
- Have and maintain a safe driving record
- Vehicle maintenance drop off and pick up
- Assist with garbage disposal
- Ability to pass Fork Lift certification
- Must feel comfortable driving with a trailer up to 20 feet long
Required Job Skills:
- Working knowledge of the inventory control function as well as an understanding of the accounting implications of inventory procedures and transactions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical/problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently with limited day to day direction
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities
- Ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary
- Excellent follow-through skills. Ability to pass Fork Lift certification
- Good organizational skills and an eye for detail
Computer Equipment and Software:
- Intermediate level of skill using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- JDE experience a plus
Education and Experience:
- Forklift certification a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous inventory or warehouse experience preferred
