General Purpose of the Position:
Media Production Specialist is responsible for shooting, editing, and producing high-quality video content that aligns with Switch’s brand storytelling initiatives. This role will focus on both the technical and creative aspects of video production, assisting with select reels, product b-roll, and on-location shoots. The Media Production Specialist will work closely with the Director of Media Production and Senior Media Producer to ensure all video projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the company’s high standards for quality and creativity. The role also involves occasional travel for on- location shoots.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Video Production: Plan, shoot, and edit video content for a variety of platforms, including websites, social media, internal communications, and events
- Editing: Edit raw video footage into professional, polished final content, incorporating sound mixing, basic color grading, and motion design
- Selects Reels: Assist in cutting selects reels, compiling highlight reels, and preparing footage for review and distribution
- Product B-Roll: Coordinate and shoot product b-roll footage, trainings, events, ensuring high production value and alignment with the brand’s visual style
- On-Location Shoots: Travel to shoot locations as necessary to capture content for product videos, events, or other brand-related projects
- ?Equipment Management: Help organize and maintain video production equipment, ensuring that all gear is in good working order and ready for upcoming projects
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Media Production and other creative team members to meet production goals and maintain brand consistency
- Creative Input: Provide input on the creative aspects of video projects, contributing ideas for enhancing storytelling through visual media
Required Job Skills:
- Strong technical skills in camera operation of Blackmagic or Sony A7 series, lighting, and sound recording
- Experience with cutting selects reels and producing product b-roll footage
- Ability to travel for on-location shoots as required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
- Knowledge of motion design and basic audio production is a plus
- A collaborative and creative mindset, with a passion for visual storytelling
Computer Equipment and Software:
- Experience with both Windows or Mac Operating Systems
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects and Premiere Pro
- Media Asset Management: Wistia, Vimeo and Asana (for project tracking)
- Microsoft 365 Suite
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Media Production (or equivalent experience)
- ?3-5 years of experience in video production, including shooting, editing, and post-production.
- Experience in corporate video production
