Technical Project Manager – Data Center Project Execution

Department: Sales-Hyperscale
Location: Las Vegas, NV

*This position can be based remotely with 25% travel to Reno and Atlanta. 

 

General Purpose of the Position:

The position will work with cross-functional teams to drive the implementation, program management, and deployment of data center projects. This role is essential in providing leadership, organization, and effective program management, contributing to the successful and efficient completion of the project and the long-term reliability of the data center infrastructure.

Contributes significantly to the overall success of the project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards. This role will involve creating website-based collaboration system templates to efficiently provide tasks, schedules, tracking, reporting, and deliverables for other teams involved with constructing or operating the data centers.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning
    • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining tasks, timelines, and dependencies
    • Work closely with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
  • Team Coordination and Documentation
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams
    • Ensure alignment of project teams, including OFCI Procurement, Internal Cost Controls, and Construction teams
  • Risk Management
    • Work directly with multiple teams to Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
    • Monitor and manage risks throughout the design, utilities, security, network, and the construction process
  • Quality Assurance
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure construction adheres to industry standards
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any deviations from quality requirements
  • Timeline Management
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines
    • Proactively identify and address delays to keep the project on track
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Generate regular progress reports for executive stakeholders
    • Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, decisions, and changes
  • Conduct and document project strategy meetings with all supporting DC execution teams
  • Issue Resolution
    • Help address and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process
    • Collaborate with relevant teams to find prompt and effective solutions
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
    • Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned for future enhancements

Required Job Skills:

  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

 

Computer Equipment and Software:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, SharePoint, MS Project, Outlook, Smart Sheets, Procore and PowerPoint

 

Education and Experience:

Education:                   

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • Advanced degrees or certifications such as PMP or PgMP are preferred

Experience:                 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in data center construction or IT infrastructure projects
