The Role: Application Administrator
As an Application Administrator at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine what’s possible in AI, cloud and enterprise data center needs. Your work will directly impact the future of technology and the sustainable growth of the Internet.
What You’ll Do
- Administration of the Switch Enterprise Applications and services.
- Provide regular project and ticket updates to IT Management.
- Provide management dashboards and project updates.
- Provide support to the Jira Service Management users, managing and creating issue types, custom fields, screens, workflows, and automations.
- Create automations between Jira Service Management and Switch applications and services.
- Provide support to the end-users and business owners of Switch’s enterprise applications.
- Ensure all application administration, user security, and other changes are performed in strict compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Process and monitor User Access Request and Change Management tickets in a timely and responsive manner.
- Prepare and deliver periodic reports for audit or management review as assigned.
- Maintain and improve service quality by following and enforcing best practices and standards.
- Achieve a reasonable understanding of the business processes, workflows, and dataflows for all supported enterprise applications.
- Establish strong, professional relationships with all significant stakeholders and departments.
- Assist with end-user instruction when requested or necessary.
- Configure, test, and maintain integrations between enterprise applications.
- Coordinate, schedule, and notify users of notable events (such as scheduled downtime, application upgrades, and major software deployments).
- Assist in evaluating and integrating new software solutions.
- Provide on-call support for production applications, escalating to other teams/vendors as necessary.
- Create documentation on Enterprise Application procedures, deployments, services, and automations.
- Document work and time tracking related to projects and requests.
- Maintain IT Service Level Agreements and response times with all departments within Switch.
- Required to work a flexible schedule when required (scheduled maintenances during nights/weekends, emergency on-call support, etc.).
- Drive next-level innovation in Information Technology to support our mission-critical infrastructure.

What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience in the IT field or a related area.
- 3–5+ years of experience in engineering, integrations, API development, or related areas.
- Jira Service Management administration experience is required, including ticket types, workflows, customizations, and automations.
- Proven expertise in supporting and administering a variety of enterprise software applications, such as ERP, CRM, CSM, ITSM, Expense/Travel, and HRIS systems.
- Strong knowledge of major operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Solid understanding of PowerShell scripting and the use of APIs and PowerShell modules.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and Git version control systems.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization systems, including SAML and Microsoft Graph (MSGraph).
- Experience with databases such as SQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
- General understanding of computers, software, networks, and internet technologies is expected.
- Security+ certification is preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with personnel at all levels, including vendors.
- Strong understanding of corporate policy and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
