The Role: Account Executive - SMB

As an Account Executive - SMB at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine what’s possible in AI, cloud and enterprise data center needs. Your work will directly impact the future of technology and the sustainable growth of the Internet.

This position is pivotal in driving revenue growth by identifying and engaging small to medium size business new client prospects while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing Switch clients. Your close collaboration across Switch teams is required to meet and exceed sales targets. Additionally, you will serve as a client advocate, fostering strong and enduring relationships with assigned Switch clients across the globe through structured communications and comprehensive account reviews.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify, qualify, and effectively manage potential sales opportunities or leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Cultivate strong growth relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Schedule and manage account reviews, collaborating with other Switch divisions as needed.
  • Dive deep into clients IT initiatives and priorities, offering tailored solutions that meet their unique needs.
  • Navigate the client's topography thoughtfully to ensure long-term relationship success.
  • Engage in proactive, regular communication with clients to share Switch news and/or initiatives.
  • Identify and manage new opportunities for additional product sales and expansion, overseeing the entire lifecycle, including complex negotiations.
  • Leverage your knowledge of the data center landscape to effectively close opportunities and advocate for current and potential clients.
  • Safeguard existing revenue streams by maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring consistent service quality.
  • Serve as an escalation point for client issues, advocating for resolution and leveraging company resources as necessary.
  • Utilize Salesforce to document relationships, activities, and key initiatives.
  • Interact with clients in a manner that reflects Switch’s positive and professional image.
  • Conduct engaging and informative tours of our data centers, showcasing our cutting-edge facilities.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies, understanding their impact on clients buisnesses and positioning us as industry leaders.
  • Manage personal social media in a way that reflects a positive and professional image of Switch.
  • Possible travel up to 10% of the time.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of SMB account management or sales experience, preferably in the data center industry.
  • Deep business acumen with extensive knowledge of the data center industry.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient decision-making, which promotes Karma-based outcomes.
  • Self-motivated professional with a focus on continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Engaged team player who thrives on supporting others in pursuit of a collective goal.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience using Salesforce and/or other CRM platforms.
